November 22, 2025We Stopped Writing for 6 Months. Here’s What Actually Happened.
For about 6 months, this blog went quiet. No big announcement. No "taking a break" post. Just... nothing.
The short version: life happened.
The more honest version: we were busy building, and writing didn't keep up.
Holidays rolled in, then a move. Routine got disrupted (I know you know that feeling).
The bigger reason wasn't time, it was focus. Instead of writing about ideas, we were deep in actually building them.
Over the last few months, most of that effort went into improving our UTM Capture & Reporting app. Some of it was feature work, but a lot of it was the kind of work that doesn't show up when you are using it.
The work that's harder to see
One of the bigger efforts was updating the app to align with newer security requirements in Salesforce.
It's not flashy, not something we can show in a demo. But it's absolutely required.
This kind of work doesn’t turn into a “launch post.” It doesn’t generate screenshots or quick wins. It just quietly ensures the app keeps working, stays compliant, and doesn’t become a problem later.
And it takes time. More than you think. And this is (usually) one big reason that contributes to the build vs buy decision.
What's next
We want to try to get back to regular posts. Not aiming for perfection.
One thing we've been working on (and will write about next) is how our UTM App helps teams migrating between Marketing Cloud Account Engagement and HubSpot.
Most teams focus on moving records and automations. But the harder problem is preserving behavior:
- where leads came from
- how they interacted
- what campaigns actually influenced them.
That's where things usually fall apart. And it's where we've been spending a lot of time.
If you're still here, thanks for sticking around.
More to come.
